Kitchen Team
Samantha Pooler, Kitchen Manager
I grew up in Atlanta Georgia, then moved to Charlotte North Carolina and spent 9 years there with my husband and our 5 children. Our family made the move Utah in August 2015 and finally found our home here in Cache Valley August 2016. I absolutely love the South but we are really loving this beautiful state and are extremely fortunate to live here.
My occupational back ground is actually focused in the restaurant industry. I was a Restaurant Manager for a popular spot in Atlanta for 10 years. A few years ago I started feeding my passion for child nutrition and volunteered in a local charter school while continuing my education in Child Nutrition and Public Health with emphasis on Real Food.
I am so excited to be working for such a great school and look forward to feeding the kids yummy, non-processed health foods.

I was born in Cache Valley but had not actually lived here until we moved here three years ago, from just across the Idaho border. I have spent most of my life in Idaho and my younger years in Colorado, always near the beautiful mountains. I have been blessed for many years to be able to stay at home with my kids and now that they are all grown or in school I am lucky enough to be able to work at their school and see them throughout the day. CCID has made a wonderful difference in the way my kids are learning and growing and we are happy to be here!
Stephanie King, Kitchen Aide
I was born in Austin, Texas and spent most of my life there. I moved to Fort Worth for a while in 2013, and then eventually moved to Logan in 2016 to be closer to my family. I am the second to youngest of 9 siblings so it was never boring growing up, and I love that I can always call them to tell them about my day.
I studied culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin and graduated in 2011, so cooking has always been a passion of mine. In the beginning it wasn’t easy to stick with, and I’ve worked in a few different fields from restaurants to jewelry stores to animal clinics, but now that I’m older I’m happy to do something that means something. I love the idea of making healthy foods for kids and to be part of making a difference.
My boyfriend and I have 3 cats and we like to play video games and fish, and spend time with his family. I miss Texas every now and then but I really love it here in the valley and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
