Alexis was born and raised in Michigan, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Eastern Michigan University. She began playing piano when she was 7 years old and picked up the saxophone when she was 11. During college, she primarily played saxophone and took secondary voice lessons. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for Elementary and Middle School Music Education, and she hasn't looked back since! Alexis is devoted to ensuring every child has the opportunity for a quality music education, and creates an environment where students can learn and grow in whatever ways work best for them. She believes music provides students with new avenues in which to express themselves and connect to others, and that it is a vital part to every child's education.
Alexis has been in Cache Valley since 2019, and has fallen in love with the beautiful scenery and community she has found here. When she's not in school, Alexis loves to rock climb, mountain bike, play piano, read, and cross stitch.
